Dear Delegates,

Welcome to the Secondary Schools' United Nations Symposium 2009!

The theme for this year's SSUNS is "Global Impact from Local Initiatives." In a time of growing worldwide financial and even political insecurity, the tendency to focus only on local problems becomes increasingly evident. In order to reach consensus solutions to the difficulties we face, it therefore becomes the challenge of all global citizens to broaden their worldview and to recognize the potential of community efforts to affect a variety of other societies. In this spirit, Team Committees has endeavoured to put together a list of exciting and relevant committees that reflect both regional and international perspectives on today's wide spectrum of global concerns.

Whether you are new to Model UN or this is your fourth SSUNS, we hope that this section of the website will provide you will helpful information and resources regarding the committees in which you will be debating. Over the course of the coming months, you should expect to find information on position papers, background guides, rules of procedure, research links, and other resources to aid you in your preparation for SSUNS. We will be updating the content on a regular basis, so keep checking back!
