Old Port
 The oldest part of Montreal, established in the time of the fur merchants, Old Port is one of the most beautiful areas in Montreal. 18th century buildings combined with cobblestone pathways give this place a story-book like look. The Notre-Dame cathedral is a must see in this area. On the Saturday night of your conference, you will be visiting Old Port’s famous restaurants that have something to offer for everyone.
China Town
Near Old Port is a distinct area – the Montreal China Town. Between two beautifully designed Chinese gates, the streets in China town are always bustling with activity. Here you will find any herb or Chinese ingredient possible, and every sort of food and drink local to the Chinese. Do visit the popular $8 all you can eat buffet…it is something worth going for!
The McGill Ghetto
Immediately east of McGill University is the McGill ‘Student Ghetto’. Most of the students at McGill reside here in what used to be one of the most posh housing areas in Montreal. The low-to-medium rise buildings with the artistic architecture give this area a very pleasant atmosphere.
This area is also called the Milton-Parc area, which are the two streets that form the boundaries of the ‘Ghetto’.
The Plateau
The Plateau of Montreal is the densest populated area in North America with over a 100000 people living within 7.75 sq. km. A residential area that has been subject to a lot of gentrification in recent years is becoming increasingly popular due to its proximity to McGill University and the Boulevard St. Laurent. This street, one of the busiest streets in Montreal is famous for its high order shops and Schwartz’s, the deli with the most well-known smoked-meat sandwiches.
St. Catherine's Street
 One of the liveliest and most beautiful streets in the world, St.Catherine's street, well renowned for its shopping and food, forms a backbone of Montreal . In summer or winter, the amazingly lit street never sees night. Do visit the street's numerous delis and boutiques, shopping here is a real treat!!
