Register

1. Prepare to register

- Note registration dates

- Discuss all options with students and confirm the number who will attend.

- Take a look at the country-committee matrix and pick your top 10 country choices. Detailed descriptions of this year’s exciting and innovative committee simulations are available in the committees section. Although certain Specialized Agencies and Crisis Committees are not listed on the country-committee matrix, you may select them among your country choices.

- Please note that country assignments will be given out on a first-pay, first-serve basis.

2. Apply online

3. Send conference payment by mail

- Calculate the registration fees for your delegation.

- Only certified or school cheques and money orders are accepted. Personal cheques will not be accepted.

- Cheques must be made out in US Dollars (for American and International delegations) or Canadian Dollars (for Canadian delegations). Other currencies will not be accepted.

- Cheques should be made payable to IRSAM, Inc . Cheques made payable to SSUNS cannot be cashed.

- Payment is due at the time of registration.

4. Make hotel reservations by October 9th, 2009

- Reservations should be faxed or e-mailed to Carolle Brunette at 1 (514) 879-0687 or cbrunelle@deltahotels.com . Please indicate that you are with SSUNS 2007 to receive the discount.

- The cost per room is $198 CAD/night (Quadruple Room).

 

5. Make travel arrangements

- Keep in mind, booking earlier means better deals.

6. Register for your tour of McGill and Old Port Dinners by November 4, 2009

- Online registration will begin September 22nd, 2009 for tours and dinners.

 

Prepare for the Conference

7. Research

- Country assignments will be released starting September 5th, 2009. Please note that full payment must be received before country assignments can be made.

- Beginning early October, check the committees section of the website for background guides.

- Research your country position(s) with respect to the committee topics. Recommended sites to begin research from are included with each background guide.

- The SSUNS Delegate Preparation Guide is available to all delegates and contains valuable information and tips about better preparing for SSUNS. Be sure to ask your Faculty Advisor for the password.

- Keep up with current events.

 

8. Practice

- Write position papers. These are due by October 23rd, 2009.

- Hold practice debates to familiarize your delegates with the rules of parliamentary procedure.

- Guides to position paper writing and parliamentary procedure can be found on the committees section of our website (available after you complete registration).
