Rules and Instructions of the Fundraising Competition


Competition Overview

Goal: Raise funds for Make-A-Wish Canada, helping to bring life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.

Target: Raise as much money as possible for Make-A-Wish!

Award: Most Charitable Delegation Charity Award will be presented to the delegation that raises the most money. This award is non-performance-based and open to every delegation.

Fundraising Period

The competition begins NOW!

All fundraisers must take place before November 7th 2024.

Participation Guidelines:

Eligibility:

All delegations attending SSUNS 2024 are eligible to participate in this competition.

Fundraising Methods:

Fundraising initiatives should uphold SSUNS' core values of integrity, respect, and inclusivity.

  • There are no limits on the number of fundraisers a school can host

  • Delegations are encouraged to use creative fundraising methods! Here are some ideas:

    • Bake sales

    • Car washes

    • Teacher Challenges

    • Clothing Drives

    • Dress down day

    • Any other initiative that fits your school’s policies.

Funds Collection:

  • All funds raised must be collected in the name of Make-A-Wish® | Rêves d’enfants Canada.

  • Donations should be kept transparent throughout the fundraising process

  • No previously allocated club funds should be used towards this competition. This is why we please ask that for every fundraiser you run, you must validate the legitimacy of your fundraiser by submitting a fundraising table with the information filled in AND a signature by a school administrator ex. Principal, Vice Principal, School Head etc. to confirm that your fundraiser took place. 

Submission of Funds:

  • Deadline: All funds must be submitted by Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

  • Method: Funds can be submitted via: 

    • E-transfer to finance@irsam.ca - Please make sure to specify the delegation and the amount raised (only in CAD, from Canadian banks).

    • Cheque - Please address to 

IRSAM Inc., 3480 Rue McTavish, Suite 410, Montreal, QC, H3A1X9

  • Cash - Can be submitted upon checking into the conference when arriving at SSUNS. Please submit in a Manila envelope with the Delegation Name, amount enclosed & Faculty Advisor (name, email and phone number) written across the front.

  • Reporting: Each delegation must submit a completed Fundraising Table (attached to this document), providing a breakdown of how much was raised for EACH fundraiser:

    • On the document, please make sure to fill in what the fundraiser was (ex. Bake sale), the amount raised & have the signature of a school administration member, faculty advisor & head delegate.

  • Once the fundraising table is completed please email the document in PDF to externaloutreach@ssuns.org with the subject line *DELEGATION NAME* Pre-conference Fundraiser Table

Verification:

  • The total amount of money each delegation raises will be verified by the SSUNS Secretariat, alongside the IRSAM Vice-President of Finance.

  • Only verified amounts will count toward the final competition results

Award Announcement:

The winning delegation of the Most Charitable Delegation Charity Award will be announced at the closing ceremony of SSUNS 2024 and will be awarded a trophy.

Photo Submission:

Please email us photos of your fundraising (in-action) that we can feature on our social media pages, website and closing ceremonies! You may submit your photos through this form.
